Your mission

About the Role

As a Computer Vision Developer Relations Community Manager, you'll be the bridge between our cutting-edge computer vision technology and the vibrant developer community. Your passion for building relationships and your deep understanding of computer vision will be instrumental in fostering a thriving community of developers who are excited to use our tools and contribute to our mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Management: Work with Leadership to cultivate and grow a strong, engaged developer community through Discord, Reddit, GitHub, forums, and in-person events.

  • Content Creation: Develop or collaborate with Marketing on creating high-quality content, including blog posts, tutorials, and webinars, to educate and inspire developers.

  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from developers to inform the Product Team on feature improvements, common user pain points, and ensure our technology meets our users’ needs.

  • Developer Advocacy: Represent our company at industry events, conferences, and participate in other developer communities to advocate for Ultralytics everywhere and extend our community reach.

Innovate: Plan, organize, and execute new ideas or initiatives to drive engagement with our community and to attract new members.
Your profile

Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: Reasonable understanding of computer vision, Python, Git, CI/CD, Docker, GitHub Actions, neural networks, PyTorch, OpenCV, and Ultralytics YOLO.

  • Community Management: Experience building and managing developer communities, preferably on GitHub, Reddit, Discord, Discourse, or similar platforms.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

  • Interpersonal Skills: A passion for building relationships and fostering a positive community atmosphere.

  • Problem-Solving: Willingness to help solve user problems with patience and guidance.

Personality:

  • Disciplined: You live by the adage, “be the change you want to see in the world (community)” even if it’s not visible to others, and you do things because they’re what’s right, not because it’s what’s easy.

  • Helpful & Inspirational: You understand the importance of guiding rather than giving answers. Others feel empowered, not overpowered after chatting with you.

  • Empathetic: There’s no need to explain the difference between ‘hearing’ and ‘listening’ to you, not only do you understand the difference, you also know when each is appropriate.

  • Adaptable & Adventurous: The ‘Unknown’ sends you a holiday card every year, because you’re not shy about jumping in to try something you’ve never done before.

  • Respectful & Accountable: You stand by your choices no matter the outcome and respect is more than just a word.

Nice to Have:

  • Open Source Software (OSS) Development: Experience with developing or contributing to an OSS project is something that matters to us, please share any projects you’ve contributed to or developed.

  • Creating Bots or Community Tools: If you’ve built a bot, utility, or plugin specifically aimed to enhance the experience of an online community, we’d love to see it!

    • Bonus if you have any ideas to implement for any of the existing Ultralytics communities.

  • Expertise in Neural Networks: If you know the ins and outs of MLPs, GANs, RBFNs, VAEs, GNNs, RNNs, CNNs, LSTMs, LLMs, ViTs, SLAM, etc. you’ll be in good company at Ultralytics.

  • Stack Exposure: Maybe you’re not an expert in everything, but if you’ve had some experience with any of the technologies mentioned that's okay, just let us know where you feel you are on them. If you are an expert in any of them, let us know and be ready to show off your skills.

  • Compute/Hardware Knowledge: Could you build a PC blindfolded? Have you memorized the pinout for the GPIO on a Raspberry Pi? Do you know the memory layout for data on NVIDIA GPUs? We want to know!

If you're passionate about computer vision and building thriving developer communities, we encourage you to apply. Join our team and help shape the future of computer vision!
